The 86 Saloon exterior at Oakdale Ranch

A True Piece of Wild West History

In 1992, our family purchased and lovingly restored one of the original saloons from the Templeton Historical Society and moved it to the Oakdale Ranch. This building was erected in 1886 in downtown “Wild West” Templeton — back when the town was as rough-and-tumble as any frontier settlement.

So many people were thrown out of this place after a night of too much fun that we named it the “86 Saloon” — a nod to the old expression meaning to be refused service or shown the door. Step inside and you’ll feel the history immediately.

This rugged, well-preserved building feels like you’ve stepped back in time. Have dinner around the card table, play bartender behind the custom-built bar, and imagine all the shenanigans that went on here in its heyday.
