PASO ROBLES, CALIFORNIA

Things to Do

Oakdale Ranch puts you right in the heart of California’s most exciting wine region — with world-class wineries, beautiful countryside, and small-town charm all within easy reach.

Wine Tasting in Paso Robles

Paso is quickly becoming known as the new Napa — with less crowds and lower tasting fees. There are over 150 wineries in the region to choose from, many more than what you’ll find on the printed maps.

The Paso Robles wine region is divided into several distinct sub-appellations, each with its own character. The west side (near Oakdale Ranch) tends toward cooler temperatures and more elegant, European-style wines that put Paso/Templeton on the map. The east side, warmed by inland heat, produces powerful Zinfandels and Rhône blends.

Some of our favorites nearby include Tablas Creek, Opolo, Halter Ranch, Castoro, Whalebone, Oso Libre, Shale Oak, Croad and Linne Calado.
